Seville’s Solucar Solar Power Tower
In Spain the rain stays mainly on the plain… Well apparently NOT according to the folks who’ve built this amazing working full scale, production solar power tower to generate electricity near the city of Seville. You can click on the pics below to get a look at this marvel of modern engineering, but you need to watch the video to get a true appreciation for the enormous scale of it all.
Six hundred giant mirrors, one hundred meters tall, powering 60,000 homes. And all with ZERO emissions. Very clever people those Spanish 
Countries like Australia are dilly dallying around talking about green-this and enviro-that and turning the whole issue into a political mess that will never ever get off the ground here. This is despite our climate and continent being the most ideal on Earth to support such technologies with hot, dry, sunny, geologically stable, modern technological infrastructure, easy access to technology and skilled workers needed to build and maintain such facilities, thousands of km2 of suitable land.
